My Journey

Career Bio

I obtained my M.Sc. in Water Resources Science and B.Sc. in Natural Resources from Oregon State University, and have had a rich and varied career to date.  I worked for The Nature Conservancy, the South Santiam Watershed Council, Watershed Sciences (a LiDAR acquisition and data processing company), and as a consultant for various environmental organizations.  My environmental scientific background has been primarily focused on stream and riparian ecology, wetland ecology, field monitoring and GIS.  However, I am highly adaptable and eager to learn about new areas as well.  Recently I have spent several years as an executive leader where I gained extensive skills in research, policy development, technical writing and communication to audiences with various backgrounds.  I’m also skilled in strategic planning, resource management, team collaboration and development, and building positive partnerships.

Passion

I am a lifelong environmentalist and lover of water restoration organizations.  There is nothing more wonderful to me than the sound of flowing water.  I love environmental sciences and I am excited to find the right group to help propel their mission forward.

In addition to loving water, I’m also passionate about spending time with my husband, biking, traveling, dancing and learning new skills (I’m currently enrolled in Spanish and Dance classes).

I love volunteering for environmental non-profits, such as the Upper Deschutes Watershed Council, Think Wild, the Corcovado Foundation, and the Deschutes Land Trust.
